Children's author, Dean Hardy, has spoken to thousands of students over the past 10 years in public and private schools as well as churches and homeschool organizations. His author presentations are geared toward 3rd grade to 7th grade students. For schools, Dean usually presents to less than forty students in the school's media center. His presentations are approximately 40 minutes in length.
Dean's high-energy presentations usually begin with the trailer for his book, Magnus Kir. He then discusses the writing process, the joy and work involved in getting published as well as the marketing of the book. Children learn about imaginative writing, the painstaking effort of editing, and the pleasure that can come from seeing your finished work. Dean's presentations reinvigorate the students' interest in reading and spark an internal desire to write for themselves.
If time permits, Dean can read the first chapter of his book to the students, and will give them a chance to comment and ask questions. If time permits, the author would be willing to sign books for children, making this an even more memorable event.
An order form for parents will be provided about the author, the book, as well as online and in-class ordering information.
